Medical Program (USydMP) - Assessment

OPME has considerable experience in the running of high quality assessments across a complex arrangement of campus and clinical school sites. The Centre provides regular staff development workshops in traditional written assessment formats, clinical assessments, particularly the long case and the OSCE. It also provides staff development on newer clinical assessments such as the Mini-Cex.

We are actively engaged in developments to measure professionalism. Two examples are:

a) admissions procedures with the Multi-mini-interview (MMI)
b) an e-portfolio of personal and professional development

Advise can be given on the major issues in assessment such as blue printing, choice of format, decision making and quality assurance.

Several staff are part of an international collaboration providing a review of work-based assessment.
